Reliance Consulting Group began in 2019 when Luz Hernández, a home health aide who'd spent a decade in other people's homes, started cleaning for two neighbors on Sanford Avenue. Word travelled the way it does in Newark — by stoop, by church, by group chat.
Today we're a Newark-registered LLC with three full-time crews, a small office on South 5th Street in Harrison, and a rule Luz made on day one that we still keep: the person who cleans your home is the person who cleans it next time. Turnover is the reason most cleaning services feel inconsistent, so we pay above the Essex County living wage, offer paid sick days, and our average cleaner has been with us over three years.
We hire from the neighborhoods we serve. Every team member passes a national criminal background check and a reference check before their first solo visit, and completes 40 hours of paid training with a senior cleaner.
We use plant-based, unscented products by default (Branch Basics and Ecos), HEPA-filter vacuums, and color-coded microfiber so bathroom cloths never touch your kitchen. If you prefer specific products, leave them out and we'll use them.

Our promises
- 24-hour re-clean. If something on the checklist isn't right, tell us within 24 hours and we return free of charge.
- On time or $20 off. If we arrive more than 30 minutes after the window we gave you without warning, take $20 off that visit.
- Your keys stay in a locked, coded safe. Keys are tagged with a number, never an address.
- Honest about damage. If we break something, we tell you that day and replace or repair it. That's what the insurance is for.
