1. Who we are
Reliance Consulting Group LLC ("Reliance," "we," "us") is a New Jersey limited liability company with its principal office at 1100 S 5th Street, Harrison, NJ 07029. We provide residential and commercial cleaning services in Newark, New Jersey and surrounding municipalities in Essex, Hudson, and Union Counties.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By requesting, confirming, or accepting a cleaning from us — online, by phone, by text message, or in person — you agree to these terms, our cancellation and refund policy, and our privacy policy. If you book on behalf of someone else (a family member, tenant, or employer), you confirm you have authority to do so.
You must be at least 18 years old to book our services.
3. Our services
Each service we offer is described on our services page and follows a written checklist. Work not on the checklist for the service you booked (for example, inside the oven on a standard clean) is not included unless you add it as an extra or we agree it in writing before the visit.
Time estimates are estimates. We stay until the checklist is complete unless the condition of the property is materially different from what you described (see section 5).
4. Bookings and confirmations
- A booking request made through our website is a request, not a confirmed appointment. Your appointment is confirmed only when we send you a confirmation by text message or email, or confirm by phone.
- We give an arrival window (for example, 10 am–1 pm), not an exact time. We'll text you when the crew is on the way.
- If we arrive more than 30 minutes after the end of your window without having contacted you, we'll take $20 off that visit.
- We may decline or cancel a booking at any time before starting work, for example if the property is outside our service area, is unsafe, or if the description we were given was materially inaccurate. If we cancel, you owe nothing.
5. Pricing and payment
- Prices on our website and the estimate shown in our booking form are based on the information you provide (service type, bedrooms, bathrooms, extras, frequency). The estimate is a range; we confirm a fixed price before we begin.
- If the property is materially larger, dirtier, or more cluttered than described — for instance, an unlisted extra bathroom, heavy build-up, or a home that requires a deep clean rather than a standard clean — we'll tell you before starting and give you the option to (a) accept a revised price, (b) reduce the scope to fit the original price, or (c) cancel without charge.
- Prices exclude New Jersey sales tax where it applies. Residential cleaning of a home you occupy is generally not taxable in New Jersey; commercial and some other cleaning services may be. We'll show tax separately on any invoice.
- Payment is due on completion of the visit for residential customers, by card (via the secure link we send), Zelle, or cash. We don't take payment in advance.
- Commercial customers are invoiced monthly with payment due within 15 days of the invoice date unless a signed agreement says otherwise. Overdue invoices may accrue interest at 1.5% per month or the maximum allowed by law, whichever is less, plus reasonable collection costs.
- Tips are optional and go entirely to the cleaning staff.
- We reserve the right to change published prices. Changes don't affect confirmed bookings or the next visit of a recurring plan; we'll give recurring customers at least 30 days' notice of a price change.
6. Cancellations, rescheduling, and lockouts
Our full cancellation and refund policy forms part of these terms. In summary: cancel or reschedule free up to 24 hours before the start of your arrival window; a $40 fee applies inside 24 hours; if we arrive and can't gain access, or you turn the crew away, 50% of the booked price is due.
7. Access to your property
- You're responsible for giving us access at the agreed time — by being present, leaving a key with a doorman or superintendent, providing a lockbox code, or another method you tell us in writing.
- Keys you give us are stored in a locked, coded safe and labelled with a reference number only. Keys are returned when you end service. We're not responsible for keys you leave in an unsecured location (for example, under a mat).
- Please tell us in advance about alarm systems, cameras, pets, and anyone who will be present. We're happy to work in homes with cameras; New Jersey law prohibits recording audio without consent, and we ask that any recording respect our staff's privacy in bathrooms and changing areas.
8. Preparing for a visit
To get the most from the visit: put away valuables, cash, and important documents; pick up clothing, toys, and loose items from floors and surfaces; secure pets that may be anxious around strangers or vacuum cleaners; and let us know about anything fragile or irreplaceable. Excessive tidying needed before we can clean may count as a material change under section 5.
9. Our re-clean guarantee
If an item on the checklist for your service wasn't done or wasn't done well, tell us within 24 hours of the visit (photos help) and we'll return within two business days to put it right at no charge. This guarantee covers the items on the checklist for the service you booked; it does not cover pre-existing wear, staining, or damage that cleaning can't remove, or areas you asked us not to clean. Because we offer a re-clean, we don't offer refunds for quality complaints except at our discretion.
10. Damage, loss, and insurance
- We carry general liability insurance ($2,000,000 aggregate), workers' compensation as required by New Jersey law, and a fidelity (employee dishonesty) bond. A certificate of insurance is available on request.
- If our staff damage something, we'll tell you the same day. Report any damage you find within 48 hours of the visit. We'll repair or replace the item at our cost, or reimburse its reasonable current value, subject to section 15.
- We aren't liable for damage to items that were already broken, unstable, improperly installed, or worn (for example, loose fixtures, peeling paint, scratched cooktops, or degraded grout), or for damage caused by using products you supplied.
- We aren't liable for pre-existing pest, mold, or moisture conditions we did not cause.
- We ask that irreplaceable or high-value items (jewellery, cash, art, collectibles) be secured before the visit. Our liability for such items is limited as set out in section 15.
11. Safety and things we won't do
For the safety of our staff and your property, our team won't: lift or move items over 40 lb; climb above a two-step stool; clean exterior windows above ground floor; handle biohazards (bodily fluids, sharps, animal waste beyond ordinary litter), mold remediation, pest infestations, or hoarding conditions; use bleach or ammonia unless you request it for a specific task; or work in a property where they feel unsafe, including due to harassment. If a visit ends early for safety reasons caused by conditions at the property, the full price remains payable.
12. Recurring plans
- Recurring plans (weekly, biweekly, monthly) carry no contract and no minimum number of visits. You pay per visit at the discounted recurring rate.
- You can skip, pause, or cancel by text, email, or phone with 24 hours' notice. If you skip more than two consecutive scheduled visits, we may charge the next visit at the one-time rate because the home will need more work.
- We assign a regular cleaner or crew to your home. If they're unavailable, we'll tell you who is coming.
13. Commercial customers
Commercial services may be governed by a separate written service agreement. Where that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement controls. We'll provide a W-9 and certificate of insurance on request and can name your property manager as an additional insured.
14. Our staff
All cleaners are our employees, background-checked and trained by us. In consideration of the recruitment and training we invest in them, you agree not to hire or engage any of our staff directly for cleaning services, other than through us, during your time as a customer and for 12 months afterwards. If you do, you agree to pay a placement fee of $2,500, which reflects our reasonable estimate of the cost to recruit and train a replacement.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by New Jersey law: our total liability to you arising out of any single visit, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, is limited to the greater of (a) the price paid for that visit and (b) the amount actually recovered from our insurer for the claim. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, such as lost income or the cost of alternative accommodation. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't lawfully be limited. Nothing here limits your rights under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.
16. Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. If you have a problem, please contact us first — most issues are resolved with a phone call or a re-clean. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally may be brought in the courts of Essex County, New Jersey, including the Special Civil Part (small claims) of the Superior Court where the amount allows.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always at relianceconsultgroup.com/terms.html with the effective date at the top. Material changes will be sent to recurring and commercial customers by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to book after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
