Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Reliance Consulting Group LLC collects, why, how we keep it safe, and the choices you have. It's written to comply with the New Jersey Data Privacy Act (N.J.S.A. 56:8-166.4 et seq.), the CAN-SPAM Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. We keep it in plain English on purpose.
1. What we collect
| Category | Examples | How we get it |
|---|---|---|
| Contact details | Name, email, phone number, service address, ZIP code | You give it to us when you book, contact us, or call |
| Booking details | Service type, home size, add-ons, dates, access instructions, notes about pets, allergies, or preferences | You give it to us |
| Payment details | Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we see the last four digits, the amount, and the status. We never store full card numbers. Zelle and cash payments are recorded as paid/unpaid. | You / payment provider |
| Communications | Emails, text messages, call notes, review responses | You |
| Service records | Checklists, before/after photos of problem areas (never of personal items, and never shared publicly without permission), damage reports | Our cleaners during a visit |
| Website usage | Pages visited, device type, approximate region — only if you allow analytics cookies | Automatically, with consent |
| Job applicants | Application details, background-check results (handled by a licensed consumer reporting agency with your written consent, as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act) | You / screening provider |
We don't ask for and don't want sensitive personal information such as health conditions, immigration status, or religion. If you tell us something like "my son has asthma, please use unscented products," we record only the instruction that's relevant to the clean.
2. Why we collect it
- To provide, schedule, and confirm cleaning services and get into your property.
- To take payment and keep accounting records required by law.
- To reply to your questions and resolve problems, including re-clean and damage claims.
- To send service messages (confirmations, arrival updates, receipts) — these are transactional, not marketing.
- To send occasional marketing (for example, seasonal offers) only if you opt in; every message has an unsubscribe link or STOP option.
- To improve our website using anonymised analytics, if you allow it.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights.
3. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the business, under contracts that restrict them to using it for our purposes:
- Netlify — hosts this website and receives form submissions.
- Our scheduling and invoicing software — stores bookings and sends confirmations.
- Payment processor — handles card payments (PCI-DSS compliant).
- Text-messaging provider — sends confirmations and arrival updates.
- Background-check provider — for job applicants only.
- Our insurer and, if needed, legal advisers — in the event of a claim.
We'll also disclose information when required by law, a court order, or to protect someone's safety. If we sell or merge the business, customer records may transfer to the new owner under the same commitments.
4. We don't sell your data
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or for targeted advertising. We have not done so in the last 12 months and have no plans to. We don't use profiling to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Text messages and calls
If you give us a mobile number, we'll use it to confirm and manage your booking. Automated texts (arrival updates, reminders) are sent only if you tick the consent box on the booking form. Message frequency depends on your bookings; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out or HELP for help. Consent to texts is not a condition of buying our services. We don't share phone numbers or text opt-in data with third parties for marketing.
6. Cookies and analytics
By default this site sets no tracking cookies. It stores one value in your browser (rcg-cookie-choice) to remember whether you accepted or declined analytics. If you choose "Allow analytics," we load a privacy-focused analytics tool that collects anonymised page-view data; you can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser storage. Full details are in our cookie policy. We honour Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out from analytics.
7. How long we keep it
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Booking and contact details | While you're a customer, then 3 years after your last visit (limitation period for most claims) |
| Invoices and payment records | 7 years, as required for tax purposes |
| Website form submissions | Deleted from Netlify within 90 days of being copied to our scheduling system |
| Service photos | 90 days, unless part of an open claim |
| Keys and access codes | Returned or deleted when service ends |
| Job applications (unsuccessful) | 1 year |
8. How we protect it
Customer records are stored in password-protected, two-factor-authenticated systems and are accessible only to office staff who need them. Cleaners see only the name, address, access instructions, and notes for the jobs on their schedule that day, through a locked mobile app — never a full customer list. Access codes are shared with cleaners on the day of the visit and removed afterwards. Our website is served over HTTPS. If a data breach affects you, we'll notify you and the New Jersey State Police as required by N.J.S.A. 56:8-163.
9. Your rights
Whether or not a specific law applies, we give every customer the following rights. New Jersey residents have these rights under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act.
- Access — ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy in a portable format.
- Correction — ask us to fix anything that's wrong.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your information (we may need to keep invoices for tax law).
- Opt out — of marketing, targeted advertising, sale (we don't do any), and profiling (we don't do any).
- Appeal — if we refuse a request, you can ask us to reconsider; we'll answer within 45 days and tell you how to complain to the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs if you're still unhappy.
To exercise any right, email info@relianceconsultgroup.com or call (503) 868-6458. We'll verify your identity (usually by replying to the email or phone number on your account) and respond within 45 days. We won't charge you or treat you differently for exercising your rights. You can authorise someone else to make a request for you.
10. Children
Our services and website are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Cameras and smart devices in your home
You're welcome to have cameras in your home. Please tell us in your booking notes so we can inform staff. New Jersey law requires the consent of at least one party to record audio; our staff don't consent to audio recording in bathrooms or areas where they change, and we ask that cameras not be placed there. We don't access your smart-home devices except a lock or alarm code you've given us for entry.
12. Staff information
We share our cleaners' first names with customers so you know who's coming. We don't share their surnames, phone numbers, addresses, or immigration status with customers or anyone else, and we ask customers not to photograph staff without permission.
13. Changes
We'll post updates here and change the date at the top. For material changes we'll email customers with an active booking or recurring plan.
